The easy way to build an agro-food business is to buy finished goods on the open market and put your name on them. It is faster, it needs less coordination, and it requires no relationships. It also means you have no real idea where the product came from or how it was handled.
We chose the harder path. CamFarm works directly with farmers, harvesters, and small producers across Cameroon. That means more conversations, more travel, and more time spent before a single container moves.
What direct sourcing actually buys you
Traceability, first: knowing which area a batch came from and when it was harvested. Consistency, second: when you work with the same producers season after season, you can agree on standards and improve them together. And fairness, third — value that would otherwise be absorbed by intermediaries stays closer to the people doing the work.
It is slower. It is also the only way we know to stand behind what is in the jar.
